  • Just want to say you did a GREAT JOB on this video. I'm a car guy too - and you said a lot of things that are SO TRUE. The Abarth quality is actually not that bad. However, like you stated - us Americans are too spoiled with Toyota and such. Bottom line, the most reliable cars built today - will still break down eventually and nearly none have the personality like the Abarth. Thx for great video

  • Stupidy. Every car you say is cool is ugly as hell. What is cool and fun is called a 1988-1991 Honda CRX but that is just to hard to make again i guess. Everything has to be bug eyed and stupid looking or the Audi you said that looks like someone just said oh wait we need a roof, well lets just dropped a bubble on top of the car. Chevy Volt looks ok though. The rest you mention are not cool but as you said earlier cute or quirky. That is not a trait i want in a car or someone saying look how cute or quirky aka stupid that thing looks.

American brands the trucks sell better. My commute I see 3 main categories. Full size pickups for work, sedans for commuters and Tesla/hybrid cars for commuters that want to save on gas. Occasionally muscle cars. Everything else is niche.

  • I might be buying a fully equipped used 2013 Lounge next week, and in the colour scheme that I originally wanted when I first saw the Fiats back in 2012. Normally, I walk to work, take public transit for longer distances, and only rent cars for occasional business trips. Unfortunately, all of these options aren't as readily available or as safe as they used to be before the pandemic. I now need to buy my first set of wheels out of necessity, so I might as well go with the car I've always enjoyed driving during the few times I've had the chance to drive one. I doubt I would ever want to purchase a Turbo/Abarth model. The biggest problem with used sports cars is that they've often been horribly abused by their previous owners.

I don't live in the USA, but I'm forced to import almost everything from there and what do you know? There aren't parts for it even in the US. The car has been in the shop for months waiting for the parts, however, I don't plan to sell this car anytime soon or even ever, it's the most fun I've had in a car and as said in the previous episode I'm sure one day it'll get the appreciation and love as a collector car. I'm talking, if you had a dead rotting body in there, it will remove the smell. Yes. Really. O3 is an extremely strong oxidizer, so strong that it would kill any plants left in the car. It will oxidize metal as well (so you can't leave it in too long). Place an ozone generator in your basement and it will kill mold. Good stuff.

  • I need your help! I own a 2012 FIAT SPORT here in NYC. And have two reoccurring problems 1. Turn the key lights all come on no noise car wont start. Changed the starter solved the problem for 1 year now its happening again. My mech friend rigged a wire to the starter under the hood and if I touch the wire to the neg battery terminal while the key is on car starts...but now since 6 weeks ago of non use due to COVID 19..the car wont start. 2. In 24 degrees or less very cold NY WINTERS the car steering wornt work..I see a battery light on dash.. after the car warms up light goes out and my power steering comes back and I can drive ok. WHATS CAUSING THESE THINGS??? THE guy I bought the car from.. suggested maybe water in the power steering and maybe needs to drain and redo fluids. Did not try yet. CAN ANYONE READING THIS HELP?? HOOVIE?? HOOVIES PEOPLE?? ANYONE SUGGESTIONS??? THANKS Barry in NYC

    • @Barry Professional musician, comedian, impressionistYes, when I was at 14 years old in my uncle workshop: long time ago :-), then engineer for a space agency (Not Nasa). cold weather steering : My assumption is that your the power steering works when it's not cold, this means that the battery doesn't have enough power for everything, when the car is running and is warmer outside the battery has enough power for the power steering too. That is why the alternator has been changed : the old one wasn't able to recharge the battery and the battery couldn't support support everything (lights, airco, heating, music ,abs and power steering) Consequently the computer (ECU) gave priority to lights, abs, heating, airco and lastly power steering if it could, otherwise no power steering for a while >if I will get STUCK I don't think so, in such a case switch on the lights for 1-2 minutes with the car off then switch off the lights and start the car easy option for the next winter : put a bigger battery example if you have a battery 12 V 35 A,, you can put a 12 V 40 A please check if it fits inside before buying it.

    • @enrico l thank you soo much for taking the time with some viable answers to what may be wrong. My mech friend fixed this same problem if not starting over year and half ago (after getting stuck a few times after purchasing the Fiat Aug 2018) by changing the starter...all was fine for over year. Plus he put in the wire rigged just in case...I didnt have to use it. NOW since 3/5 last time I used the car when I went to start it..NO START... months ago I read in CARGURU that it might need a computer friend says he can do that but we haven't been able to get together yet...Also someone suggested this: Mine turned out to be the earthing strap from the battery to the starter. Cost about £40 at the garage to fix"...but haven had the chance to check on that. Also thanks for telling about the "COLD WEATHER NO POWER STEERING problem was a common one..Ive asked other fiat owners and no one said they experienced same.last week I took the neg term off the battery to reset but still didnt start....the battery always seemed STRONG. Now yesterday I went to get something from my car and figured lets try again...FIRST KEY TURN NO START ...Second key turn..IT STARTED!!!!!! Iket it run 10 minutes for now and turned off and tried again...STARTED!!! Now 24 hours later I just came from the car and IT STARTED AGAIN...NO PROBLEM. Still not know if I will get STUCK again if I drive it out is a problem, I will check on once I go see my mech friend after were a little more ready to venture outside.. Again thanks very much for taking to time to reply with sensible options!! Very nice of you! Are you a mechanic? Be safe Barry

    • @Barry Professional musician, comedian, impressionist just google 2012 Fiat Sport according to various Fiat owners it's a common problem when it's cold , no need to drain the the power steering ) For your convenience I understand that you have n't used the car in the last 6 weeks The car battery voltage may be low, try to startthe car at 11 am when is warmer (about 51 F) 1)Turn on the lights for 3 minutes without starting the car, this will woke the battery. 2) Swich off of all the lights, air conditioning, off , heating off . Try to start If doesn't start your friend can jumpstart your car with a battery booster pack or with leads and another car..( no rocket science , even if I worked in aerospace ;-)) After that Just drive the car for an hour , at 35 -40 mph air conditioning off, no music player, the bare minimum: the engine this will recharge the battery . The day after A quick check : start the car without using the rigged wire under the hood Just turn the key it probably will not start , turn off at try again 2 or 3 times After that -Do you have a tester ? check the voltage of the battery when the car is off it should be 12 V -There is a diagnostic plug inside the car to ask to any of your friends if he has a diagnostic scanner or even better a a laptop with OBD-II interface kit(cable to connect the diagnostic port to the laptop) You will get a list of error messages and list of what is wrong Just google it to find out what it is . -The ECU (electronic board inside the car) may need a software update but I am afraid you have to go a Fiat dealership but can be done later It is a very good idea to check the level of all the fluids (oil, cooling system , brake system ,ect and refill if necessary check in the owner manual which type do you will eventually need ) and ask to your friend to do if you never did If it is less than full :refill oil, cooling system , brake system You can buy these products in any car store or online just check in the owner manual what type do you need ) You can find the manual on the passenger side , inside the glove drawer )# If not you can download for free just google it . Hope it helps

    • Speaking from Italy here: FCA are a fucking bunch of retard. Not because of their purchase of the USA group, but: - they stayed in IT until they were able to mug the country money threatening to send people home and close factories, then they moved to a fiscal paradise and killed nearly all the 3rd party italian supplier - they have no idea of how to use their brands: they own Lancia, one of the greatest and more innovative brand of all the time (search for its history: they are those that invented the monocoque, the 1st independent suspensions on all wheels, the dion bridge transmission, the inboard brakes, the V engine -YES!-) and what are they doing with it? A damn egg-shaped Lancia Y. They practically killed it. They killed Innocenti, they killed De Tomaso, they killed Autobianchi (search A112 Abarth). They have not been able, like VW group did, to create a placement for each of them, for instance: utilitarian -> Fiat / Sporty -> Alfa / Elegant and luxurious -> Lancia / Electric and esperimental -> Autobianchi. No. All dead. - they have no idea of the product: they are just money movers. Fiat brand is producing 3 cars. THREE!!! 500, made in Poland, Tipo, made in Turkey, and Panda (which is nearly EoL too). And Alfa? Giulietta is EoL and there will be no replacement, Giulia (yes, that's good!) and one of those stupid big SUV, the Stelvio. They can't survive. And now they're partnering with Peugeot, hoping to be able to survive by sharing chassis between way too many cars that will be all the same.
