  • My son had a 2018 raptor ford to trade in w/ low miles. We drove everything. It was a blast. The Camaros, the Ford Gt500 shelby, a shelby truck, new vettes, new BMW's, hellcats etc. The Camaros are the worst of the new cars lMHO. He bought a new Ford Raptor.

  • Dude got a cheap ass 4th gen lol. He has the oldest model year (1993-2002) no t tops automatic and the weaker v8 in the LT1 (~275 hp) when the LS1 (~335 hp) can be had. ‘01-‘02 z28’s are where it’s at.

  • Junk? Your badly mistaken! These cars may looked cheap here or there, but these things beat most everything on the road from 93-2002 except for cars quite a bit more expensive, even then a NOS kit with a timing adjuster they beat even the Saleens Cobras etc! Not to mention they handled great and were natural drift cars! I’ve had several of the Fbodys at 100-200k without any of the leaks you spoke of. And these were beat on and drove the tires off but took every inch of it. I have a 800hp 10GT500 now but those Fbodys were awesome! And long way from Junk.

It was the most expensive one on the shelf around $30 and not even 15 minutes after we stocked them, someone comes up to the counter and wants to return it without a receipt......LMAO, she got turned down quickly!

  • What? No standard traction control? No electronic steering or brakes? No computer doing everything? No radio that, when it fails, prevents the AC from working? You mean I actually have to DRIVE the vehicle! What? What a piece of junk! Whatever!!! I had a 97 SS that was an awesome vehicle!!! Got great gas mileage, had plenty of power, didn’t handle bad and looked great! Once it was out of warranty I did a 396 Lingenfelter, installed a full suspension kit from bilstein, added a x-brace from a convertible, strut tower braces and subframe connectors. After all that it was a beast!!! Walked away from many Vipers and corvettes!!!

  • lol me watching you shift gears in a auto Camaro knowing its electronic trans and shifting doesn't do anything. and as a Camaro fan the new one doesn't cut it because they did a terrible job of remaking a 67-69 style Camaro by putting too much rice looking parts on it

  • i should say the LT1 is a reliable engine if you do basic maintenance... i did spark plugs, distributor cap - rotor and water pump, and changed some radiator and heater hoses and it runs flawless. i drive it daily since its my only vehicle, and did many long night trips and never had poblems in the middle of the way... additionally 4th gen fbody owners are so helpful in the facebook groups, they share every single info they know, they helped me a lot when i have troubles. i feel proud to have a 97 z28... a great car and a great community.

  • I have a 93 Z28. Had it nearly 13 years now. The LT1 was under rated. 275hp? No, more like a legit 300hp. And 5.9 second 0-60? Only GM claimed that. More like 5 seconds. And in real life it could cover the 1/4 mile in under 14 seconds (with the right options and a good track, 13.80s are doable). Easy to work on? Not really. Try changing spark plugs. Crappy GM plastic? Look at any mainstream car from the 90s. They all used the same plastic. Leather interior wasn’t available in 93. If you got the G80 RPO, that suspension would not be soft... (mine has it). The top speed was 163mph. There are more things he said were wrong factually....

Took it to an open road race in Nevada raced 120 miles got it up to 150 mph in 5th gear. 1 mile all out race. The car was awesome very reliable and hauled ass.

  • These babies are INDESTRUCTIBLE. That's why I have a 2000 Z28 (targa, in "Light Driftwood", OMG! :D). I took care of it, didn't mod anything, and it drives, and drives, and drives. Driving a "NO BRAINER" automobile is rare pleasure that a lot of people have never experienced (or long forgotten). Unfortunately, living in Europe makes it a lot more difficult to maintain than if I lived in the USA. Mobil oil company, for instance, although they pretend to have a worldwide coverage for their lines of products, only sell useless crappy stuff in Europe, and none of the specific products they make available in America (like the "High Mileage" oils, for instance). And since most GM European branches have stopped providing maintenance form their older GM products, the access to spare parts has become very expensive, and a real challenge. Anyway ! These F-Bodies don't break that often when you don't drive them like a total maniac, specially the V8s, and specially the LS1s. Here are a couple of pics (before and after I switched from 16" to 17" ... because there are no more 245/50 R16 on the market, and I wanted REAL TIRES ... "Bridgestone Turanza T005 245∕45 R17 95W"): Have fun ! God bless you all in here !
