  • Just an idea... when you have it re wrapped you should ask if they can wrap the headlight to hide the inside portion where the marker light is to give it a better more rounded and unique look. Love your content. Keep it up!

  • I don't think, the problem with your previous 996 was the silver colour ;););) Besides, the reason, siver is boring is because it's ubiquitous and the reason for that is, that many people like it and that's because it's beautiful. Atthe same time, I agree that it's boring... It's a conundrum!

    Dr ClosenoughDr ClosenoughPrieš 4 mėnesius
  • I love the orange wrap😍! In fact, i think, you should habe painted it that colour permanently. It makes the front lights not so important anymore. It also says 'don't juge me on my looks, I'm just a slightly faster beetle' ;)

  • Hovie you always complain about how much you have to pay to fix your very expencive luxury cars but i think it would be better for yourself if you could really look at how wonderful it is that you can buy these 35 to 80 thousand dollar cars. I love cars and would love to have the set ups that you have. I know that things probably did not come easy for you and i Really love your videos and you seem like a down to earth guy. So just enjoy and try not to think about what it costs to maintain your cars

  • The 996 is definitely not one of the most reliable Porsches ever. IMS bearing failure is well known and expensive. The 996 Turbo has a completely different arrangement and the IMS bearing is not an issue. IF you want on of the most reliable Porsche engines of all time, get a 3.2 Carrera. Also, the '66 Imperial is one of the best of Hoovie's cars.

  • Nice vid bro, glad you still have the car and the change of color from silver to orange is really nice. The only reason I did not like the 996 is that when this model came out, the Caiman also came out and both had the same exact front. So when you were on the road, you couldn't tell if a Caiman was coming or a 911, that really turned me off. Besides that, all other grievances you mentioned, are true. Anyway, keep up the nice work!

  • Coolant lines breaking is not engine reliability, that's just normal ware and tare, all cars blow water pumps and head gaskets, generally Porsche does not and they make the most reliable cars on the road, you only have to check autotrader and see how many are still for sale going back to the 70's. The only bad one was the 928 as it had nicosil bores when that was a new untested technology and the first on a road car. They just build cars to outlast the competition.

  • Most people looking for this bargain 996 Turbo should have done their due diligence in being aware of this common to this series minor issue. The engine was not damaged just had to have the pipes welded on as a permanent fix. This engine is the tried and true Mezger design used in 1965-2013 air-cooled 911s and water-cooled (heads) GT3s, GT2s,and GT1 and definitely not related to the M96/M97 normally aspirated 996 911 engine family of road cars.

  • Good job. I just bought a 1986 Porsche 911 Coupe. Shifter couplings went out the next day 🙄 They were cheap and easy to replace tho. Very cool but I haven’t gotten it adjusted exactly right so still haven’t gotten to really drive it. I like you bought this car in this video. The cheaper one? $36,000 ain’t cheap but I get it. I bought a Porsche because I first bought a 2004 BMW Z4! Why? Because I’ve never been into cars. I couldn’t believe I could buy a BMW sports car for $7,000.00! I love it a year and 10,000 miles later. I fell in love with sports cars so of course I had to get a 911. I look forward to driving it. I guess I’m now a car guy. I really do love the BMW. It had only 68,000 miles and I’ve had no issues. I drive it everyday. I highly recommend them. I’m curious to find out if the 911 will win me over even more. We’ll see
