  • Well I bought a 99 Seville SLS (practically the same vehicle) in 2005 for 12k with 43k miles. I rolled it into the dealership in 2009 overheating with 84k miles and they gave me $500 trade in for a truck. By far the biggest pos car. There were multiple other warning lights with the suspension. I was putting a quart of oil in it every week and I believe that engine required 7.5 quarts. It was fast and comfortable though. Lol

  • Since more is always better, I want 165 valves and 23 speeds.. The heck with simplicity, let's over-engineer it and worry about complexity much much further down the road, like after the 1st 20k miles.

  • 10 years ago I had a 07 Lexus ES350 and bought top of the line Spark plugs for it, the dealer said that since I was providing the Spark Plugs they would ONLY charge me 275$. After watching ONE LTworlds video It took me 30 minutes to change out the 6 plugs. Taking it to a dealer should be the LAST RESORT.

  • Tip - Get a Costco Membership, their Interstate batteries are 79 dollars. Save you quite a bit. 300 for endlinks? Thats what you get for cheating on the Wizard! 😆 Two wrenches and a set of Moog endlinks for less than 30 from RockAuto and youre done. Hoovie you can do that with ease on the Wizards lift. 😆 Same with the hvac computer is part of the hvac controls. Used on ebay for less than 100. Easily replaced like Typhoons plus dash piece removal. Dealers are a joke though a 100 for diagnosis isn't bad. Glad you have the Wizard though!

  • By the way keep that car,its one beautiful looking ride man and its auto on the floor, which is also cool, only thing that's sucks about it ,is that it's not rwd,but I love that body style, and by the way gm did that bullshit to that car on purpose, back then those idiot's, they were hurting for money back in those day's ,they knew that the engine had to come out to get to the crank seal..but those cars were pretty fast for a big 4 door, and rode very sweet...😎

  • The northstar is one of my favorite engines.. on paper. It's ironic that it has such an awful headgasket issue, considering that it is designed to run without coolant for 50 miles in limp mode. I would never buy one to trust my life to... but it is one of the few cars id buy for hooptie status just to have fun with for a while... maybe use the block for an end table when it finally chokes. lol. It's a pretty paperweight. Too bad that they're either getting scrapped or being sold for weirdly high amounts on 3rd party car lots. lol.

  • I know somebody that had a similar issue with an '01 BMW. I forget the model because I don't care. Less than 150k miles, perfect body/paint, nice interior...but the engine only kinda ran sometimes. After she realized fixing this would be way more than the car is worth she offered it to the local junk yard - they didn't want it for free. Said it wasn't worth the tow. Eventually a guy off craigslist bought the whole car for just the hood.

  • When GM has a well known, widespread, documented issue with one of their cars, have you noticed how they avoid acknowledging the problem and refuse to fix it unless forced into a recall by the NHTSA? I'm 75 years old and have owned 3 Oldsmobiles in the past. I would never buy another GM product based on past experience with them. Sad that they can't step up to the plate and accept responsibility for their mechanical blunders.
